SAT4GAIA
The SAT4GAIA project aims to establish Greece’s national Earth monitoring service under the National Microsatellite Program, transforming satellite data into reliable and actionable geospatial information. Its goal is to support environmental monitoring, land management, and national security, while creating a centralized Government Space Hub for the processing, analysis, and distribution of satellite-derived products. Through specialized services in agriculture, forests, water, land, and urban environments, SAT4GAIA enhances Greece’s capability to utilize space technologies for evidence-based decision-making and long-term sustainability.
Geosystems Hellas (GSH) is the prime of the project and has the overall responsibility for the implementation of the project. Moreover, GSH is responsible for the integration of the Land Use Land Cover, Deformation monitoring and Urban Analytics modules into the Greek governmental hub IT infrastructure.
The SAT4GAIA project is funded by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) under the Greece 2.0 National Plan, as part of the country’s National Satellite Space Project.
