Leica ContentMapper Airborne Imaging Sensor
Leica ContentMapper Airborne Imaging Sensor is an airborne mapping solution designed for efficient large-scale geospatial content collection.
The sensor supports high-resolution aerial imagery capture for large-area and country-sized mapping projects. With 40,000 pixels across swath, Leica ContentMapper delivers high imaging performance and supports efficient aerial data acquisition.
The system uses high-performance optics with RGB and NIR capabilities. This makes it suitable for professional mapping, remote sensing, photogrammetry and geospatial data production.
Leica ContentMapper also works with Leica HxMap, creating an end-to-end airborne mapping workflow for data capture, processing and image quality optimisation.
High-Performance Optics
The ContentMapper is the first large-format camera based on the innovative and modular MFC150 optical system in a custom configuration and built for speed and efficiency during imagery collection. The high-performance, metric CMOS technology delivers higher accuracy thanks to calibrated custom-built lenses in RGB and NIR.Best Image Quality
Each of the integrated optical units feature Leica Geosystems’ unique mechanical forward-motion-compensation (FMC), which maximises performance and provides the highest image detail in a wide range of operating conditions. Thanks to mechanical FMC, exposure time can be lengthened without increasing image blur from aircraft movement. Better exposure times also produce imagery with less noise and sharper details.Processing Efficiency
Combining the ContentMapper with the Leica HxMap high-performance workflow provides a powerful and scalable end-to-end airborne mapping solution configured for the largest geospatial mapping programs. The unified processing software features the latest innovations in selective sharpening and auto colour correction.Innovation Roadmap
The ContentMapper sensor configuration will benefit Leica Geosystems’ roadmap as the cutting-edge optics will be integrated into future imaging solutions. The system will provide a technological foundation for the next-generation large-format camera, providing our customers with solutions that meet today’s and tomorrow’s requirements. The HxGN Content Program, the most extensive library of aerial imagery and elevation models, utilises the ContentMapper for high efficiency data capture around the Globe. Visit the HxGN Content Program website to learn more about their data collection partnerships.
