SAT4GAIA

The SAT4GAIA project will create Greece’s national Earth monitoring service under the National Microsatellite Program. It will turn satellite data into reliable and actionable geospatial information. The project will support environmental monitoring, land management, and national security.
SAT4GAIA will also create a centralized Government Space Hub. This hub will process, analyse, and distribute satellite-derived products. The project includes specialized services for agriculture, forests, water, land, and urban environments. In this way, SAT4GAIA will strengthen Greece’s ability to use space technologies for evidence-based decisions and long-term sustainability.
Geosystems Hellas (GSH) is the prime contractor and leads the overall implementation of the project. GSH also integrates the Land Use/Land Cover, Deformation Monitoring, and Urban Analytics modules into the Greek governmental hub’s IT infrastructure.
The SAT4GAIA project receives funding from the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) under the Greece 2.0 National Plan. It is part of the country’s National Satellite Space Project.
