FOCUS AREA:
The Greek Supersite aims to advance the understanding and monitoring of one of Europe’s most seismically active regions through long-term observation of crustal deformation and the evolving stress–strain regime, updated seismicity relocations supported by calibrated crustal models, and the integrated use of existing and newly acquired datasets to derive reliable estimates of source, path, and site effects.
By efficiently fusing ground-based and satellite Earth observations, the Supersite enhances the monitoring and characterization of seismic hazard sources, while the combined exploitation of these data supports robust risk assessment, Disaster Risk Reduction, and strengthened resilience across the region.
