Geosystems Hellas Strengthens Cross-Border Space Cooperation through the Three Seas Initiative

Geosystems Hellas participated in the 3 Seas Business Forum 2026, held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on 28–29 April 2026, contributing to an important initiative for strengthening cooperation in the space and satellite technology sector.

During the Forum, Geosystems Hellas supported the development of a new Hybrid Satellite Constellation initiative. The initiative aims to promote the exchange of Earth Observation satellite data among countries of the Three Seas region, enhancing access to valuable geospatial information across borders.

As part of this effort, Betty Charalampopoulou, CEO & President of Geosystems Hellas, signed, on behalf of Geosystems Hellas and the Hellenic Association of Space Industry, a Letter of Intent with space-sector companies and organizations from countries including Croatia, Greece, Czechia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Poland.

The Hybrid Constellation concept is based on the idea that Earth Observation satellites can provide value beyond national borders. Through coordinated agreements, participating countries could exchange satellite data and make better use of their Earth Observation capabilities.

This cooperation can support key areas such as civil protection, natural disaster management, border security, critical infrastructure protection, defence, cybersecurity and crisis management.

The initiative is expected to evolve in two main phases. The first phase focuses on satellite data exchange and coordinated tasking. The second phase aims to support the interoperability of ground stations, enabling them to receive data from partner satellites and operate as backup infrastructure when needed.

Geosystems Hellas participation highlights the company’s active role in the European space ecosystem and its commitment to advancing Earth Observation, geospatial intelligence and satellite-based solutions for security, resilience and sustainable development.
