PEARLS

The PEARLS project addresses Renewable Energy Landscapes (REL) as spaces where renewable energies reshape citizens’ relationship with energy and their perception of landscapes. Focusing on Southern Europe and Israel, it seeks to understand social acceptance patterns and strengthen public engagement with sustainable energy systems through spatial planning and social innovation. By combining staff exchanges, collaborative research, and methodologies from the social sciences, PEARLS will generate applied knowledge to inform policies, foster citizen participation, and support disadvantaged communities in benefiting from renewable energy opportunities.

Geosystems Hellas (GSH) will design and implement a geographic information system which will be the basis for recording project geographical data and any information derived from these data. GIS capabilities will offer a user-friendly environment to easily and quickly extract the required information and to intervene when necessary to identify and make any corrections required in the study areas. GSH will update the PEARLS project website. It will be available to transfer knowledge to the participating organizations via in situ & Webex training and project site questionnaires. An online manual will be made available.
