COPROTECT
The aim of CO-PROTECT is to make Greece a technologically emerging power in the response to natural disasters, at a time when climate change, with the collateral pressure of the pandemic, is a major issue, affecting human existence and well-being. The effects of climate change are creating an upsurge in floods and extreme weather events combined with drought and forest fires; deforestation from fires is creating landslides and land degradation due to extreme weather events, etc. Moreover, in seismically active regions, such as our country, the pressure increases. All of the above is reflected in the built environment where most of the inhabitants of European countries live and the critical infrastructure related to utility networks, ports, airports, hospitals, etc.
The main role of Geosystems Hellas (GSH) in the framework of CO-PROTECT is to ensure and supervise the monitoring of the digital simulation of emergencies that may be of concern to the civil protection mechanisms, applying the services and methodologies developed in the work modules and by thematic area of emergency.

The CO-PROTECT project was created as part of the RESEARCH-CREATE-INNOVATE action and was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and national resources through the E.P. Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation (EPANEK), with grant agreement No: ΓΓ2CL-0363842
