Geosystems Hellas at Greek Space Tech Forum 2025

The Greek Space Tech Forum 2025 was successfully held on July 1–2 at the Athens Conservatory, with online streaming also available. The event highlighted Greece’s growing presence in the global “New Space” economy, also known as Space 4.0.

The Forum was organized by ethosEVENTS, in co-organization with the Association of Greek Space Technology & Applications Industries (EVIDITE) and the Greek Space Technologies and Applications Cluster (si-Cluster) of Corallia.

Throughout the Forum, Betty Charalampopoulou, CEO, and Christos Kontopoulos, CTO of GEOSYSTEMS HELLAS S.A., actively contributed to panel discussions and speeches. Their interventions emphasized the importance of strengthening innovation and collaboration across the space and maritime sectors, while highlighting how advanced space technologies can be adapted to address real-world challenges and support new opportunities for growth.

Speaking at Panel I of the Greek Space Tech Forum 2025 (#gstf25), titled “Opportunities for Greece in the National Space Programme,” Betty Charalampopoulou, Director of the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC), highlighted the strategic progress Greece has achieved in the space sector and encouraged stakeholders to build on this momentum.

During her intervention, she emphasized Greece’s successful use of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), describing it as a “big bet” that the country has already won.

At the panel discussion titled “Opportunities for Greece at the ESA Ministerial Council 2025 (CM25),” Christos Kontopoulos highlighted Greece’s growing presence in the European space sector and emphasized the need for a strategic, sustainable, and long-term approach to the country’s National Space Program.

During his intervention, Kontopoulos referred to the longstanding success of Geosystems Hellas, a Greek geoinformatics company with an established track record of collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).

On the second day of the Forum, Betty Charalampopoulou participated in Panel VIII: “Space & Maritime.” Alongside other distinguished speakers, she discussed the potential for Greece to play a leading role in shaping European initiatives in the shipping sector.
