MAGINET is an ESA ARTES project focused on maritime awareness and vessel monitoring. The project develops a platform that supports vessel detection, tracking and identification.

The platform combines AIS data, Earth Observation data, optical and SAR satellite imagery, Radio Frequency data and AI/ML analytics. This data fusion approach helps users monitor maritime activity more effectively.

MAGINET also supports the detection of vessels that operate without AIS signals. These vessels are often called dark vessels. This capability is important for maritime safety, security and surveillance.

Geosystems Hellas contributes expertise in Earth Observation and SAR data processing. The company designs ship detection workflows and develops customized detection and data fusion algorithms.
