Geosystems Hellas at Smart City Expo World Congress 2025: Empowering Cities Through Geospatial Intelligence

Geosystems Hellas proudly participated in Smart City Expo World Congress 2025, held in Barcelona from 4–6 November, the world’s leading event shaping the future of urban innovation and smart city solutions. This year’s edition brought together city leaders, industry experts, researchers, and technology providers from more than 150 countries, united by a common goal: to accelerate the transformation toward smarter, more resilient, and more sustainable cities.

Our team was hosted at the EARSC (European Association of Remote Sensing Companies) booth, alongside fellow EARSC members, showcasing the collective expertise and dynamic ecosystem of Europe’s Earth Observation (EO) industry. Together, we highlighted how geospatial technologies, EO services, digital twins, and data-driven tools can directly support the evolving needs of modern cities.

Showcasing Innovative Geospatial Solutions

Throughout the event, Geosystems Hellas presented a portfolio of cutting-edge solutions designed to strengthen city management and urban resilience, including:
• EO-based monitoring services for urban growth, environmental changes, and natural hazards.
• Smart city digital twins enabling real-time visualization, scenario modelling, and informed decision-making.
• AI-powered geospatial analytics supporting mobility planning, energy efficiency, and infrastructure optimization.
• Integrated platforms for early warning, crisis management, and resilience, tailored for public authorities, city planners, and emergency management teams.

Visitors explored real-world applications from Greek and European cities, engaging in discussions on how accurate geospatial intelligence can transform day-to-day operations, long-term planning, and overall quality of life in urban environments.

Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange

Being part of the EARSC booth provided an excellent opportunity to connect with municipalities, technology partners, research institutions, and international networks. Together with other EARSC members, we exchanged insights on:

• Urban digital transformation and data-driven governance
• Geospatial technologies for climate resilience and adaptation
• Citizen-centric innovation and inclusive smart city strategies
• AI integration into spatial urban data ecosystems
• The role of EO services in next-generation smart city infrastructures

Our joint presence underscored EARSC’s role in strengthening Europe’s geospatial sector and fostering cross-border collaboration on smart city and resilience initiatives.

Looking Ahead
