EUPOLIS

The EuPOLIS project’s main goal is to regenerate and rehabilitate urban ecosystems by creating proper urban planning matrices and inclusive and accessible urban spaces. The addressed key challenges include low environmental quality and low biodiversity in public spaces, water-stressed resources, and undervalued use of space. Specifically, it aims to replace the traditional perception in which engineering systems are built to protect the environment at significant costs.

Geosystems Hellas (GSH) contributes to EuPOLIS as Work Package leader and as a partner for the Front-Runner City of Piraeus. It developed the EuPOLIS Visualization Platform, which monitors the impact of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) on urban environments and citizen well-being through interactive 2D/3D views enriched with temporal and analytical data. GSH also leads the monitoring of NBS interventions, working closely with municipalities to ensure their successful deployment.

The EUPOLIS Project is not finished

The EuPOLIS project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, Euratom Research and Training Programme 2014-2018, under grant agreement No 869448.
