EO4Port

The EO4ThePort of the Future project aims to modernize and decarbonize port operations by integrating Earth Observation (EO) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies into port management systems. Its goal is to enhance operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, and decision-making through data-driven applications that optimize port performance, improve safety and security, and support the transition toward zero-emission and smart port ecosystems.

Geosystems Hellas (GSH), as the prime contractor, oversees overall project management and coordination. The project’s Earth Observation (EO) products include an EO Tide Lines service and Land Classification capabilities to support monitoring and analysis of port environments. GSH is further responsible for developing two key algorithms: a Night Lights algorithm to assess port activity and energy use, and an Air Quality algorithm to monitor environmental conditions and emissions in and around port areas. Together, these developments contribute to advancing smart, sustainable, and data-driven port operations.
