Luciad Portfolio
The Luciad Portfolio (latest full-power platform by Hexagon) is a complete developer ecosystem for building mission-critical situational awareness and real-time location intelligence applications—across desktop, web, server/back-end, and mobile/on-board environments. It is designed for organisations that need fast, accurate, standards-based geospatial visualisation and analytics to support operational decision-making in defense & intelligence, aviation/ATM, security, smart cities, critical infrastructure, and emergency response.
What you can do with Luciad Portfolio?
With Luciad, you can connect to virtually any data source and work with 200+ geospatial data formats, including real-time streams and domain-specific standards, then fuse that data into a single operational view and deliver it to users with interactive, map-centric workflows.

The Luciad platform delivers five geospatial software solutions:
1. Browser
LuciadRIA
LuciadRIA now adopts a WebGPU-based foundation, ensuring compatibility with modern browsers and enabling future rendering improvements. The platform also requires HTTPS, providing a secure environment that enhances protection for users and data. In addition, military symbol editing has been simplified, with improved handles, templates, and interactions that make drawing and adjusting symbols faster and easier.
2.Desktop / On-board
LuciadLightspeed
Supports for the latest S-101 maritime chart standard, enabling accurate reading and visualization of official nautical charts with correct symbols and styles for safer navigation. It also provides greater control over S-101 chart styling from servers, allowing users to adjust layer appearance directly on the client for flexible, mission-specific visualization. In addition, it enhances operational awareness through cyber-focused military symbology, introducing new cyber domain symbols and an “area of uncertainty” indicator to better represent cyber activities and uncertain operational environments.
3.Server
LuciadFusion
LuciadFusion can now decode and publish S-101 maritime charts, serving the latest ENC standard via WMS/WMTS with SLD-based custom styling, while also offering smarter OGC service handling (automatic JPEG/PNG selection based on transparency, configurable tile matrix sets, and support for multi-item WCS coverages). In addition, it provides server-side cyber-focused military symbology, generating cyber-related symbols—including areas of uncertainty—so even clients without native military symbology support can receive fully rendered tactical maps through WMS.
4.Desktop / On-board
LuciadCPillar
LuciadCPillar is now future-proofed with WebGPU, replacing OpenGL to align with modern graphics APIs and enable future enhancements with minimal impact on existing code. It also introduces data-driven dynamic styling, where new rules automatically adjust color, size, and visibility for large datasets to keep maps responsive. In addition, it now natively supports ECW, JPEG2000, and GML, allowing common imagery and feature formats to be read without external converters.
